Surviving December 26th

 In Inner First Class

It’s the day after Christmas. Presents have been opened. Visitors have come and gone. You may have overindulged and are feeling bloated. Those cheerful decorations are living on borrowed time. “The most wonderful time of the year” is officially over. December 26th is rarely someone’s favorite day of the year.

How do you beat the post-Christmas blues? My vote goes to music!

There are few better ways to begin the day than with a few mood-lifting jams. It gets you excited about the day, motivated, inspired and empowered! But it’s even better when you sing along. Studies have shown the health benefits of singing out loud include elevated mood, improved circulation and lung function, stronger core muscles, lower stress and even greater longevity.

Don’t be afraid to belt it out! Here is my top ten power song list*:

  1. Happy (duh!) – Pharrell
  2. Good Feeling – Flo Rida
  3. Better Now – Collective Soul
  4. Ray of Light – Madonna
  5. All Star – Smashmouth
  6. Feeling Good – Michael Buble
  7. It’s Amazing – Jem
  8. Gel – Collective Soul
  9. Don’t Stop – Fleetwood Mac
  10. What I Like About You – The Romantics

Don’t let the post-Christmas blues get the best of you! Fight back with mood-boosting power songs!
